This policy explains what we do with information you give us through this website. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

Who we are

Severn Lime is a trading name of Severn Damp Proofing Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company no. 10994578. We are the data controller for the information described here.

You can reach us at 07980 222830 or severndampproofing@icloud.com. We are based in Stroud, Gloucestershire; our registered office is on the Companies House register under company number 10994578.

What we collect, and when

When you send an enquiry. Our contact and survey forms ask for your name, phone number and email address, and optionally your property’s location, the type of property, what work you need, and how you found us. You choose what to put in the message.

The form also records which page you sent it from, and any campaign tags (utm_source and similar) that were on the link you originally arrived by. That tells us which parts of the site and which adverts actually generate enquiries.

When you simply browse. Our host records standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested — as part of serving and protecting the site. We do not use these to identify you.

We do not run any analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, and no behavioural tracking on this site.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own.

Campaign tags are kept briefly in your browser’s sessionStorage so they survive as you move between pages, and are cleared when you close the tab. That data stays in your browser until a form is sent. Our host may set a strictly necessary cookie for security and bot protection.

Why we may use it, and on what basis

  • To answer your enquiry and quote for work. This is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
  • To carry out work you have engaged us for, and to keep records of it.
  • To understand which parts of our site generate enquiries. Our legitimate interest in running the business sensibly. It never involves profiling you as an individual.
  • To meet legal obligations, such as keeping tax and accounting records.

Who else sees it

  • Formspree delivers our web forms and passes submissions to us by email. Their servers are in the United States, so your enquiry is transferred there.
  • Cloudflare hosts the site and serves the pages.
  • Google Fonts serves the typefaces. Your browser requests them from Google’s servers, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.

We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to anyone for marketing.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for up to two years, so we can recognise you if you come back. Records relating to work we have carried out are kept for at least six years, which is what tax law and the length of our guarantees require.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of what we hold, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or hand it over in a portable form. You can object to processing we do on the basis of legitimate interests. Ask us at the phone number or email address above and we will respond within one month.

If you think we have handled your information badly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes
